PM: Road maps on Belarus-Russia integration do not envisage supranational bodies

06.12.2019
Road maps on integration of Belarus and Russia do not envisage any supranational bodies, Belarus Prime Minister Sergei Rumas told the media, BelTA has learned.
The prime minister said that the road maps, the package of documents which is currently under discussion, focus purely on economic issues. “There are no supranational bodies in the documents we are going to submit to the heads of state for signing,” said Sergei Rumas. As BelTA reported, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Russian leader Vladimir Putin are expected to meet in Sochi on 7 December. The meeting will be preceded by a regular round of negotiations between the prime ministers on 6 December. The meeting will focus on the integration road maps. According to the latest data, 16 points of integration road maps still have to be reconciled. In early September the prime ministers of Belarus and Russia agreed a draft action plan to implement the Union State Treaty and a list of road maps. The parties agreed to work out 31 road maps to implement the action plan. Belarus' Ambassador to Russia Vladimir Semashko stated on 20 November that the parties reached agreement on 21 road maps.
