Belarus Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko talked about the plans to increase salaries in the healthcare and education sectors in Belarus as he attended the Kontury show on the ONT TV channel on 29 December, BelTA has learned.
“Medical workers will see a 10-15% increase in salaries in 2020. This is what the budget can do. There is also an extra-budgetary component,” Igor Petrishenko said.
Under the instruction of the head of state, salaries in the healthcare sector are to make up 150% of the average salary across the economy by 2025 (now it makes up 80%). According to the vice premier, salaries will be increased in other sectors as well, including the education, cultural and social sectors. “Every minister in the sector will calculate the increases. This money is envisaged in the budget. There will be certain salary rises,” he said.
