Lukashenko: Presidential election should be well organized

25.05.2020

The forthcoming presidential election in Belarus should be well organized, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed a meeting to discuss important social, economic, and political matters in Minsk on 25 May, BelTA has learned.

“We should arrange this election properly. Not because I want to look lily white. The election should be held as it is supposed to. People are watching us. We have not emerged out of the blue like some others. They were under the radar and then they all came out of the woodwork and promise to drop money from a helicopter,” the head of state said.

“We have gone through this. In Belarus money should be earned, there is no other way. The more you work, the more you earn. No one will drop money from a helicopter, “Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

Speaking about the signature collection, the president noted that the number of potential candidates depends only on voters. “Even if all 15 of them become presidential candidates, let it be so if people want it. People will decide at the election how they will vote and who they will support,” the Belarusian leader said.
