Belarus, Kazakhstan might resume air travel between Minsk, Almaty

24.11.2020

MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan are considering resuming air travel between Minsk and Almaty, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kazakhstan Pavel Utyupin said as he took part in the online session of the Belarus-Kazakhstan Business Council, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus and Kazakhstan are closely looking into resuming air travel between Minsk and Almaty. The countries will make the decision taking into account the epidemiological situation. To my mind, this will help strengthen ties between businesses of the two countries,” the ambassador noted.

In January-September 2020, Belarus-Kazakhstan trade declined, Ambassador Pavel Utyupin said. One of the reasons for this was the quarantine measures, including the suspension of air travel between the two countries in the spring. “We currently operate direct flights between Minsk and Nur-Sultan four times a week. This is very important, especially in view of the difficult economic situation,” he stressed.
