In line with President’s decree of June 5, the centre of ecological tourism Stankovo will be set up in the Dzerzhinsk region (Minsk oblast), BelTA learnt from the press center of the head of state.
The customer and investor of the construction is OAO Agrokombinat Dzerzhinsky. In line with the national tourism development programme for 2008-2010, some Br1.5 billion will be assigned for the construction of the new tourist facility.
The centre will include four special areas where visitors will be provided with various services. A historical regional museum is expected to set up in the centre. It will display restored partisan’s dug-outs, an exhibition of arms of the Great Patriotic War, the special ethnographic section which will tell, about the culture and the way of life of the Belarusians of the 17th-20th centuries, an exhibition of rare ancient equipment. The centre will also has a zoo, a horseway, a bicycle lane, a pond for fishing and rest, cottages, cafes with national cuisine.
According to the press service, centre of ecological tourism Stankovo will promote the development of historical and ecological tourism in the Dzerzhinsky region.
