In 2007 - 2008, more than Br60 billion will be assigned for the construction of sports facilities in the region from the budget of the Minsk oblast, Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Leonid Krupets noted during the opening of a town’ stadium in Smolevichi on October 2. According to the head of the Minsk oblast, more than Br8 billion was invested in the reconstruction of the Smolevichi stadium. The stadium in Smolevichi is the only stadium in the oblast which has special covering for grass hockey. The stands are designed for 800 viewers. The stadium also has a reparative centre, tennis-courts, a cafe, a small hotel. In 2008, the sports centre Zamkovy in Nesvich and a sports centre in Soligorsk were commissioned in the Minsk oblast. A new sports centre will be launched in the town of Krupki soon. An equestrian centre Urozhainy is being constructed now in the Minsk oblast as well. It will have an administrative building, a ground for dressing-out, warm-up and in-door riding halls. According to Leonid Krupets, in 2009 the Minsk oblast will continue to construct sports facilities. The region will launch the construction of ice palaces in Molodechno and Borisov, an in-door football ground in Zhodino. As of today, the Minsk oblast has 2 thousand 98 sports facilities including 38 stadiums, 195 football fields, 152 hand-gun ranges and 30 swimming pools. БЕЛТА
