The cultural department of the region help locals organise their leisure time, revives, develops and preserves arts and crafts, national traditions and modern arts. Recently the cultural department has repeatedly been honoured for the best organization of work in the oblast.
The cultural network includes 73 cultural establishments.
There are eight amateur groups in the region, which have title “People’s amateur group”.
Some 2,468 adults and children are engaged in different creative activities in 226 club groups.
The library assets of the central library system number 357,600 editions.
The system of the preschool aesthetic education includes the Kopyl and Timkovichi children’s art schools, where children learn to play piano, violin, accordion, etc. The art schools number some 400 pupils, who have repeatedly won international contests.
There is a museum of local lore and history, which now exhibits new expositions “Mestechko” and “Archeology of the Kopyl region”. The stocks of the museum number 21,900 showpieces.
The regional weaving centre in the village of Semezhevo and a centre of traditional culture in the village of Mazha were opened as part of the folklore revival and development programme,. The local creative groups represent the region at different international, country-wide, oblast-wide festivals, contests.
