An Agreement was signed between Minsk Oblast Executive Committee and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan

13.12.2019
The potential of Belarus and Tatarstan in trade is not fully utilized, Prime Minister Sergei Rumas said today at a meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, BELTA informs.
“Our potential in trade is not being used to its fullest. This year we are not even reaching the level of last year. I am convinced that neither the government of Belarus, nor the leadership of Tatarstan can suit this situation. Therefore, I would like to discuss what we can do to in order to restore record levels of both commodity circulation and levels of industrial cooperation and production of joint products, "said Sergey Rumas. The Prime Minister drew attention to the fact that the Republic of Tatarstan ranks 6th in the trade turnover between Belarus and Russian regions, and this is a very high indicator. “Tatarstan is a unique Russian region with powerful industrial and intellectual potential, and it is distinguished from other subjects of the Russian Federation by the integration of science and production. We see this in the example of the petrochemical industry,” the head of the Belarusian government noted. Petrochemicals account for about half of the trade turnover of Belarus and Tatarstan. “Today Tatarstan is the main supplier of petrochemical raw materials not produced in Belarus. At the same time, our enterprises supply their products to Tatarstan. This cooperation in petrochemicals is an example of how to complement each other,” said Sergey Rumas. Following the results of negotiations between Minsk Oblast Executive Committee and the Government of Tatarstan, an agreement was signed on cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific, technical, social, cultural and humanitarian fields. The Belarusian Republican Youth Union signed agreements on youth cooperation with the Association of Youth Governments of the Russian Federation and the youth government of Tatarstan. In addition, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan agreed on cooperation. The Belarusian National Technical University and the Belarusian State Academy of Aviation have concluded agreements with the Tupolev Kazan National Research Technical University.
