08.04.2020

Some 25,000 healthcare workers are involved in the fight against COVID-19 in Belarus.

Thanks to their well-organized and efficient work, the spread of the infection in the country is under control, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry.

More than 7,000 hospital beds are available for coronavirus patients.

As of 8 April, around 46,000 coronavirus tests were carried out in Belarus. Thirteen laboratories are involved in testing.

A total of 976 people remain in hospital. “The majority of patients have mild or moderate symptoms. Thirty-three patients require assisted ventilation. Specialists held conciliar featuring the country's leading specialists in infectious diseases and intensivists to discuss these cases,” the press service noted.

Seventy-seven people have recovered.

No new coronavirus deaths were reported in Belarus in the last 24 hours.
