“As for the process of licensing the operation of the second unit, I can say that Gosatomnadzor is ready to start it after receiving an application from the BelNPP, with a set of documents established by the law,” said Olga Lugovskaya.
Safety expertise is being conducted as part of the current licensing of the first unit. A necessary condition to obtain a license is a successful safety expertise along with the successful assessment of compliance of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.
Gosatomnadzor is also preparing for the first public hearings before the issuance of the license for the operation of the BelNPP first unit. This will happen as soon as the safety expertise and conformity assessment are completed.
