Minsk Central Region Hospital: service quality monitoring continues

25.10.2019

Throughout October, the administration of the Borovlyansky village executive committee, together with the leadership of the Minsk Central District Hospital, identify problematic issues related to medical care in the metropolitan region. The main goal is not only to designate “pain points”, but also to find optimal methods for their “treatment”.

One of the most pressing issues is the lack of coupons for specialists for an initial appointment. This, according to numerous applicants, relates to the work of both child and adult registries. To get a coupon, according to patients, it is necessary to take a queue at almost five in the morning, long before the opening of the clinic. “In order to establish whether this is really so, we study the situation for three days, sending an employee of the executive committee for monitoring,” says Zhanna Vorobei, chairman of the Borovlyansky village executive committee.

- For completeness, we visit both children's and adult registries. So, on Friday, October 18, at 7:30 near the window where coupons to general practitioners are issued, 28 adult patients are waiting. Considering that on the first shift from 8:00 three doctors come on duty, and they will be replaced by three more specialists starting at 11:00, even by average standards all potential patients waiting in line will be referred to the doctor in the first half of the day. Another 30 people - this is the queue from among those who want to consult with a pediatrician. The registry is ready to issue at least 60 coupons for primary, repeat or emergency patients.

Near the treatment room, which is always busy due to the high attendance of the clinic, there is only six people in total calm. Friday, of course, is not a significant day. The highest turnout is on Monday. What does monitoring the “hard day” show? On Monday, October 21, at the same 7:30 in the clinic is not so crowded: 17 patients are on duty near the adult reception, 10 - at the children's window. On Tuesday, October 22, the number of people who want to see a doctor increases. During the time from 8:00 to 11:00 only in the children's registry issued more than 70 coupons. Those who need an emergency reception are guaranteed assistance by providing a coupon without a number. “If the child has a temperature, acute abdomen or vomiting, even a ticket without a number and a specific time for visiting, gives the right to an extraordinary appointment,” comments Olga Baskakova, deputy head physician. - Many mothers begin to get nervous, not knowing that they can use this right. The same benefit applies to children up to a year.
