SAINT PETERSBURG, 30 May (BelTA) – The forthcoming visit of President of Russia Vladimir Putin to Minsk reflects the importance of promoting relations with Belarus for Russia. The opinion was voiced by Sergei Zhiltsov, Head of the CIS Center of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, who took part in the research to practice conference “Topical problems of Union State development” in Saint Petersburg on 30 May. Sergei Zhiltsov said: “The visit should give some overall boost to Belarusian-Russian relations. It should undoubtedly demonstrate priorities in Russia’s foreign policy”. According to the expert, on the one hand, Belarusian-Russian relations reflect difficulties in the internal development of every country. On the other hand, if compared with relations with other countries, Belarus-Russia relations correspond to the nature of strategic partnership, interests of the two nations in the best possible manner. Besides, Belarusian-Russian relations rely on a solid legal base, which is mainly fulfilled. БЕЛТА
