MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – The fourth folk festival Kamyanitsa will be held in the Belarusian State Museum of Traditional Architecture and Lifestyle in the village of Ozertso near Minsk on 15 September. The festival will last nine hours. The event will feature professional and amateur music groups, traditional amusements and exhibition of folk crafts, BelTA learnt from the organizers. The museum will be open for visitors from 10:00. The entry ticket to the museum will serve as a concert ticket. Therefore, the visitors to the show will be able to see the entire exposition featuring Belarusian wooden architecture. The music part of the forum will start at 12:00 with the performance of children’s folk bands that will sing and dance at the amateur stage until the evening. The stage will also welcome adult bands, like Ula, Syomukha, Vuraj and a dozen others. The amateur artists represent a mixed company of people – from preschool children to ladies in their 80s. The participants will come from all over Belarus. One of the music bands will come from Canada. The band is composed of Belarusian immigrants to this country. The main stage will join the festivities a bit later. The legendary folk group Litsviny led by Vladimir Berberov will run the show. The music group was among the first to start reviving the interest in traditional Belarusian culture back in the late 1980s. The legendary artists will be followed by a young generation of performers, including a fantasy-folk group Irdorath, etho-orchestra Garotnitsa, Re1ikt, Silver Sky, Pawa, FolkRoll and Nasta Nekrasova. The show will be starred by the Russian group Ivan Kupala who will present their new program Homeland based on Polesie songs. The folk festival Kamyanitsa was held in 2009 for the first time. The music forum aims to promote traditional culture and provide financial assistance to the Belarusian State Museum of Traditional Architecture and Lifestyle that boasts a unique collection of authentic wooden architectural specimens of the 18th-20th centuries. All the money raised during the show will be transferred to the account of the museum. The open-air exposition of the Belarusian State Museum of Traditional Architecture and Lifestyle features about two dozen architectural specimens located on the territory of 151 hectares. Their maintenance requires considerable funds. Some of the funds are provided by the state, some are earned on paid services (like holidays and public events), some are provided by sponsors. Just like last year, visitors dressed in national costumes will be able to visit the museum and the show free of charge. The traditional title sponsor of the event is Bank BelVEB. БЕЛТА
