MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – Musicians from the internationally-acclaimed Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra will perform in Minsk on 2 October as part of the 7th International Yuri Bashmet Festival and the German Weeks, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Germany in Belarus. The concert will be held under the auspices of the German embassy, the Goethe Institute in Minsk, and Robert Bosch AG Office in the Belarusian State Philharmonic Hall. The diplomatic mission noted that Minsk is currently hosting German Weeks which familiarize Minsk residents and guests with modern German culture, society and economy. On 26 September the House of Friendship played host to a feast of the German language. The music cabaret of Martin Sommer and Charlie Schalkowski (Berlin) presented their new program. The Frantsysk Skorina Bible from Gorlitz will go on display at the National Library of Belarus on 4 October. German Week was first held in Belarus in 2004. The event is conducted by the Embassy of Germany in cooperation with German cultural figures and German establishments in Belarus as well as Belarusian partners. БЕЛТА
