MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – The export of tourism services in Minsk Oblast in 2013 is projected to go up by 13.5% as against 2012 to reach $40 million, BelTA learnt from the sport and tourism department of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
In January-August 2013 the export of tourism services in the region reached $26.619 million. In Minsk Oblast tourism services are exported by 76 organizations. Significant results have been achieved in the Berezino, Vileyka, Volozhin, Kletsk, Nesvizh and Stolbtsy Districts. Starye Dorogi District started to export tourism services in August 2013.
The region has created an appropriate infrastructure for the development of the tourism and services sectors. The infrastructure includes 1,785 public catering units (15% of the total number in Belarus), 153 roadside facilities (24%), 54 hotels and 44 accommodation establishments (24%). Besides, the region has 140 health farms, including 30 health farms and 27 recreation facilities, and 41 hunting lodges. According to experts, Minsk Oblast is the leader by the number of hotels, health farms and recreation facilities. The region is ranked second by the number of hunting lodges and roadside facilities.
