MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) - Minsk Oblast festival of national cultures will be held in Molodechno on 30 November, BelTA has learnt from the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
The festival will feature ten nationalities from nine districts of Minsk Oblast. The participants will include the Belarusian public association of the Greeks Peloponnese, the Molodechno city cultural and educational association of the Ukrainians Krayany, the Union of the Poles in Belarus cultural and educational association (Molodechno), the amateur association of national cultures Shmatgalosse, and the cultural and educational association of the Ukrainians Obriy. Partaking in the festival will be also Armenian families from Nesvizh and Uzbek families from Starye Dorogy District.
Representatives of different nationalities will demonstrate the unique culture of their people. The visitors to the festival will have an opportunity to get acquainted with national decorative and applied arts, symbols of the Cossacks, and national literature. They will also taste dishes of Greek, Russian, Ukrainian, Pole, Uzbek, Armenian and other national cuisines. The tasting event will be accompanied by the Cossack Lyuba Bratsy vocal group from the Kostyukovichi Center for National Cultures (Borisov District).
The Minsk Oblast festival of national cultures is held once in two years as part of the all-Belarus festival of national cultures. The festival is expected to preserve, develop, and popularize national cultures, strengthen harmonious interethnic relations, and provide support for the creative activity of public associations.
The jury of the festival will choose the winners who will participate in the tenth All-Belarus Festival of National Cultures in Grodno in June 2014. The jury will be headed by Mikhail Drinevsky, People’s Artist, the art director of the Tsitovich National Academic People’s Choir of Belarus.
