All four mining departments in operation as Belaruskali boosts sales

30.01.2014

OAO Belaruskali has been ramping up sales thanks to the quality of its products, reads the message posted on the official website of the company on 28 January, BelTA has learnt.
“High quality of OAO Belaruskali’s products puts the industrial giant back on its feet. Thanks to increasing sales all four mining departments went back into operation,” the message reads.
Belaruskali’s Technical Control Department said the company has improved figures, which was made possible thanks to new equipment and resource saving technologies. “We would like to point out such positive factor as stable and low mass fraction of KCl (potassium chloride) in wastes produced by the enriching factories, which has a positive effect on the extraction of the usable component. As far as finished goods are concerned, all major quality characteristics are stable at all of the four mining departments and the products are shipped to consumers in line with their requirements,” the company said.
Earlier Belaruskali’s top executives said they expected January exports of potassium fertilizers to total 500,000 tonnes. The company also plans to boost exports of complex NPK fertilizers and satisfy domestic market demand.
OAO Belaruskali is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of potash fertilizers, with its share in the global export standing at about 16%. The company’s annual output exceeds 10 million tonnes. Belaruskali products are shipped to over 80 countries. The company extracts salts from the Starobin potash salts deposit, one of the world’s largest and the second largest in the CIS. The state owns 100% of OAO Belaruskali shares.
