New construction materials factory in Minsk District in 2018

A new factory to make construction materials based on gypsum will be commissioned in the town of Gatovo, Minsk District in 2018, BelTA learned from Yelena Krutolevich, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Architecture and Construction Ministry. The document was signed by Belarusian Architecture and Construction Minister Anatoly Chernyi and the Russian company’s Director General Yuri Goncharov. The contract provides for modernizing the existing enterprise Belgips and raising its gypsum wallboard output capacity up to 10 million m2 per annum. The contract also envisages the construction of a new factory in the town of Gatovo, Minsk District to make construction materials based on gypsum. Plans have been made to commission lines to make 500,000 m2 of gypsum partition blocks per annum, 100,000 tonnes of dry construction mixtures per annum, and 30 million m2 of gypsum wallboards per annum, said the Press Secretary. The contract will be implemented step by step. The existing enterprise is to be modernized in 2016. The construction of the new factory is to be completed in 2018. The total volume of investments will be €43 million. According to Yelena Krutolevich, the Russian investor will have to fulfill several requirements. The number of jobs in OAO Belgips will have to be the same till 1 July 2018, meals will have to be arranged for workers (with the costs reimbursed), the necessary equipment will have to be dismantled and removed from Belgips’ premises within one year after the factory in Gatovo is commissioned. The new enterprise will also have to create at least 180 jobs. The signing of the investment contract with the Russian company Volma Corporation is stipulated by Belarus president decree No.34 of 16 January 2014. The decree has been adopted to bolster the production of construction materials based on gypsum in Belarus.
