The budget deficit in Belarus in 2013 was due to the issues related to the export of potash fertilizers that arose at the end of the year, Deputy Finance Minister Maxim Yermolovich said as he presented a bill on the 2013 budget execution review at the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 18 June, BelTA has learnt. The execution of the revised plan on fiscal revenues in 2013 made up 100.8%, on fiscal expenditures – 99.6%. The deficit made up about Br2.257 trillion, or 0.4% of GDP. The spending on defense purposes amounted to Br6.236 trillion (98.7% as against the revised plan). The spending on the judicial branch, law enforcement and security stood at Br10.895 trillion (99.6% of the plan). Br4.679 trillion (99.6% of the revised plan) was earmarked for healthcare, Br1.9 trillion (97.8%) on physical education, sport and mass media, Br5.743 trillion (99.9%) on education.
