Sergei Krivets scored a third goal to send FC BATE through to the UEFA Champions League play-off after edging FC Debrecen in the third qualifying round at home. FC BATE overturned a two-goal aggregate deficit against FC Debrecen in a second-leg match on Borisov Arena. FC Debrecen held the advantage heading into their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round return against FC BATE Borisov thanks to Ibrahim Sidibe's penalty in the first-leg game. Two years ago FC BATE Borisov got past Debrecen at the same qualifying stage of the tournament. The Belarusian team had a 1-1 draw at home and a 2-0 victory in the away match. The ten-time champions of Belarus started out from the second qualifying round this year. In the first-leg game at Borisov Arena the Belarusian team held their opponents KF Skenderbeu Korce to a goalless draw. The send-leg match finished with a 1-1 draw.
