BelAZ will deliver a total of $110 million worth of equipment to Kemerovo Oblast, the Russian Federation, Director General of BelAZ- Managing Company of BelAZ Holding Piotr Parkhomchik said at the meeting of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee to consider the results of the social and economic development of the oblast in H1 2014, BelTA has learned.
“During a visit to Kemerovo Oblast a delegation of the company signed two big supply contracts to the total amount of $110 million. The shipment of goods will be launched in the near future,” Piotr Parkhomchik said. Besides, an agreement has been reached with the biggest Russian diamond-mining company to deliver 19 heavy-duty mine trucks. There are plans to increase their number to 29 in the future.
According to the Director General, the company is also actively working the African market. BelAZ supplied its first equipment to the African continent in 2010-2011. Then seven dump trucks were sent to Africa. Today there are 41 BelAZ vehicles there. “At the Sishen mine in the Republic of South Africa that uses the equipment of our competitors BelAZ haulers were acknowledged the best equipment in 2013,” Piotr Parkhomchik said. Positive feedback gave an opportunity to sign a contract with Zimbabwe. Equipment worth $12 million will be shipped to Zimbabwe in September.
Besides, the Belarusian company is in talks to sell dump trucks to Mongolia and Iran. Interest in the Belarusian equipment is shown by Latin America and first of all Chile, Peru and Brazil. The talks with representatives of the U.S. and Canadian companies will be held in September and October.
Zhodino-based Belarusian Autoworks was founded in September 1948. In 2010 BelAZ was reincorporated into an open joint stock company. In September 2012 BelAZ is the managing company of BelAZ Holding. It is the world's largest manufacturer of heavy and super heavy carrying capacity rock haulers as well as other heavy transport equipment used by the mining industry and the civil engineering industry.
