Four cinema theaters of Minsk Oblast will start screening 3D movies by the end of 2014, Deputy Director General of the movie distribution enterprise Minoblkinovideoprokat Tatyana Doroshkevich told BelTA.
Today in Minsk Oblast 3D screenings are available at the following movie houses: Oktyabr (Borisov), Rodina (Molodechno), Zorka Venera (Soligorsk), Belarus (Slutsk), and Yunost (Zhodino). Plans have been made to start screening 3D films at another four movie theaters (Era in Dzerzhinsk, Oktyabr in Maryina Gorka, Mir in Vileika, and Yunost in Volozhin) by the end of the year.
Speaking about 5D movies, today they are screened in five cinema houses of Minsk Oblast. Besides, in July 2014 Minoblkinovideoprokat bought a 5D moving theater. “It will allow people to attend such screenings two-three times a year. The moving theater has already been in Dzerzhinsk, Kletsk, Nesvizh, and Uzda Districts. We see that this attraction is popular with people and it can pay off within five months,” Tatyana Doroshkevich noted.
Moreover, the cinema houses of Minsk Oblast are planning to attract visitors by switching to the digital format. Today seven movie houses use the latest digital screening technologies. Minsk Oblast expects to increase their number to nine by the end of the year.
Minoblkinovideoprokat operates 17 cinema houses. In January-August 2014 the number of cinema-goers in Minsk Oblast exceeded 1.5 million of people.
