Belarusian-Polish joint venture established by Borisovdrev

19.11.2014

A Belarusian-Polish joint venture SOOO Sinyavka Furniture Factory has been established using premises of the furniture production workshop Sinyavka of OAO Borisovdrev in Kletsk District, BelTA learned from Ruzhena Novitskaya, Press Secretary of the Belarusian woodworking and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom.
The founders of the joint venture are OAO Borisovdrev and the Polish company Nowe Koronki, which represents the group of companies Polikat. The total volume of investments exceeds €2.5 million, with the share of foreign investments as high as 80%.
According to Ruzhena Novitskaya, the Belarusian-Polish joint venture will focus on enhanced wood processing and the manufacturing of products with a high added value. In particular, the factory will make furniture out of solid pine, birch, metal and other materials. There are plans to make curved plywood products, which are in high demand among furniture manufacturers.
The joint venture will focus on selling its merchandise in the Customs Union — Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus — as well as Poland and a number of other European countries. The bulk of the furniture products will be made for IKEA, which will secure their smooth sales.
The Polish investors explained their interest in setting up the joint venture in Belarus by comfortable business operation terms, the availability of resources, and the ability to access the Customs Union market directly, BelTA has been told.
