The presentation of the finalists of the second Minsk regional
festival of student business companies will be held on May 11, BelTA
learned from the Education Department of the Minsk Regional Executive
Committee.
In total, 42 business companies representing general secondary
education institutions from the Minsk and Brest oblasts, as well as
seven business companies from institutions of vocational and secondary
specialized education, applied for participation in the festival. The
directions of their activities are diverse: growing agricultural
products, making souvenirs, organizing excursion activities,
manufacturing joinery products, garments, products for household needs,
printing services.
According to the decision of the expert group, 27 business
companies will be represented in the final of the festival. In the Minsk
Regional Institute for the Development of Education (Minsk, P. Glebki,
88) during the booth presentation on May 11, their participants will
talk about their activities, demonstrate the produced goods or rendered
services. On the same day from 12.00 to 14.00 the festival will be able
to visit all comers and get acquainted with business companies, purchase
the products or services they sell.
Last year 22 companies were represented in the final stage.
Along with the goods and services provided, students demonstrated their
business plans, staffing, job descriptions of employees, as well as
calculations reflecting the financial result of companies' work. Young
entrepreneurs then exchanged experience, met with representatives of
business structures, attended trainings and master classes.
Promotion of business and creative initiative of students in the
field of entrepreneurial activity, development and implementation of
business ideas and projects is the main goal of the second festival of
student business companies. Its organizers are the Education Department
of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee and the Minsk Regional Institute
for the Development of Education.
The first business companies were established in the educational
institutions of the Minsk region in the 2011/2012 academic year. In the
2016/2017 academic year, 137 student business companies operate in the
central region.
