In the Smolevichi and Pukhovichi districts of the Minsk region on June 1, an information day will be held on the topic "Promoting the green economy in the Republic of Belarus: principles, mechanisms, prospects," the organizers of the event told BelTA. The objectives of the information day are to broaden the knowledge of the audience about the principles of the green economy, to provide information that would be the impetus for implementing green projects in the region, as well as practical implementation of the principles of a green economy at the local level. The program of the event includes presentations by experts, presentations of cases on the green economy, implemented (or being implemented) in Belarus with the participation of the European Union. It is expected that in the Smolevichi region the participants of the information day will get acquainted with the possibilities of developing organic agriculture in Belarus, will see presentations on the topic of waste management and water use. Also in this part of the event it is planned to touch on issues of stimulating the population to reduce energy consumption, create demand for environmentally friendly products. In addition, a visit will be organized to the points of the pilot initiative of the NGO Belarusian Green Cross, which will present the experience of creating a network of innovative demonstration sites for agriculture and organic agriculture to promote sustainable land use, popularize agricultural labor among young people, improve schoolchildren's nutrition and earn rural incomes Schools. In the Pukhovichi district, the participants of the event will visit the Maryinogorsky Gymnasium, where they will become acquainted with the implementation of the initiative on greening the roofs of the buildings of the public association "Pukhovichsky Krai."
