The enterprises of the Minsk region are entering profitable work on the production of flax and selling flax products, the chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko told reporters today, BelTA has learned.

The enterprises of the Minsk region are entering profitable work on the production of flax and selling flax products, the chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko told reporters today, BelTA has learned.
According to Anatoly Isachenko, this year the region expects to get results in the industry by about 30% higher than last year's level. The total collection of flax is not less than 29.5 thousand tons with an average number of 1.04 (in 2016 - 0.89) and a yield of 32.9 c / ha (in 2016 - 26.5 c / ha), flax seed - 1.8 thousand tons. Expected output of flax fiber of higher quality.
"This will give an increase in monetary terms. Today, according to our estimates, we are entering profitable work on the production and sale of flax processing products," said Anatoly Isachenko.
In the region, it is necessary to remove the flax-dolgun from the area over 8.9 thousand hectares. It is planned to complete the flaxing of flax until August 25, the swap of flax from the fields - until September 25. The factories are ready to process a new crop.
Anatoly Isachenko stressed that flax is a special culture that requires attention at all stages of production. In many respects success depends on the seed material and selection of fields. In the region they intend to change the approaches to the evaluation of the flax plant operation. The rate is made not so much on the volume of gross collection, but on the quality indicators - yield on the long fiber to the level of 700-800 kg per hectare. In the nearest future plans - to divide the processes of production of flax seed and seeds. The latter is supposed to be handed over to flax stations.
