The open championship of the Minsk region on orienteering will be held in Slutsk and Slutsk district on September 15-17, BelTA has learned. Teams of districts and cities of the Minsk region, physical culture teams (KFK), teams of orienteering clubs, as well as all those who have received a doctor's admission are allowed to participate in the championship. According to the conditions of the competition, participants in the age groups 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 35 and older will be able to start at the start. Competitions will be held in a personal-team format. On June 16 in Slutsk scheduled start at the sprint distance. The next day in the Slutsk district (at Lake Rudnya) the names of the winners and medal winners will be known at the middle distance. For participants of youthful age groups, the tournament will be rated. Results of personal-team competitions at both distances will be summed up separately in each age group. The team place is determined by the largest sum of points scored by the 12 best athletes at each distance. The winning team in the overall standings is awarded with a cup and a diploma. Winners in individual competitions at sprint and middle distances will receive certificates and individual prizes. Among the tasks of the upcoming open championship is the development and popularization of orientation in the Minsk region, raising the level of skill of athletes and district teams, forming a regional team for participation in republican competitions. The open championship of the Minsk region on orienteering will be conducted by the Sports and Tourism Department of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee, the Minsk Regional Orienteering Federation, the Education, Sports and Tourism Department of the Slutsk District Executive Committee.
