Young innovators and scientists of the Minsk region will sum up the Year of Science in the format Science Slam

The regional stage of the republican innovation project "100 Ideas for Belarus" will be held in Nesvizh on December 18 in the format of Science Slam, BelTA learned from the Minsk Regional Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.
The competition on activization of activity of young Belarusians, scientists and inventors in the field of innovative activity this year gathered more than 70 applications. 31 screens have passed through a sieve of five zone exhibitions. These ideas will be presented in the regional qualifying stage in an unusual format - Science Slam. "Now this is the most popular format for promoting and popularizing scientific projects around the world," the organizers explained, "It involves informal communication and discussion, and it is in this format that the authors will defend their projects before the expert council."
This year the youth of the region offered a lot of projects in the field of medicine for the competition. A striking example is the program Medical Diagnostics (author - doctor of the ambulance station Zhodino CGB Alexander Vashchula). By issuing from hundreds of diseases and symptoms only those that the patient may have, based on anamnesis, laboratory and instrumental research data, the program will minimize the error.
Mikhail Zayats, a leading researcher at the Laboratory of Pesticide Dynamics, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, RUP "Plant Protection Institute" (Minsk region), developed a test that can identify synthetic dyes in wines, juices and beverages quickly, accurately and at low cost . The test can be carried out in the form of test strips, syringe filters, a reagent (solution).
The author's development of the "Velocomputer with Extended Capabilities" is presented by Vadim Mashnitsky from the Borisov district. This invention with the ability to measure speed, distance, illumination control and voice scoring.
The expert council will assess scientific projects and developments in the composition of representatives of the BRSM, the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, public figures and the head of the Small Business Incubator CJSC. The most creative authors will have the right to represent the region in the republican finals.
