Minsk and Shanghai in November will sign an agreement on cooperation

Minsk and Shanghai will sign an agreement on cooperation at the 1st International China International Import Expo in Shanghai this November. The approximate directions of the future cooperation and the details of the presentation of the Belarusian capital at the exhibition were discussed today at the meeting of the Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets and the delegation from the New Pudong district of Shanghai, BelTA has learned.
"We are already working out an agreement between Minsk and Shanghai, and today we received an offer to consider such an agreement between the Moscow region of our capital and Novy Pudun district, I think it will also be signed, because both sides are interested," Andrei Shorets.
The parties discussed mutual points of interest. "This is tourism (including business and sports), economic cooperation, and I want the Shanghai companies to come not only to the territory of the" Great Stone ", but also to the FEZ, to other investment sites, which will create jobs and pay a decent salary.We will support them in any sectors of the economy, "the mayor of Minsk added.
Deputy Chairman of the People's Government of New Pudong District, deputy head of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone Administration Chen Xi said that this is his first visit to Minsk and he is delighted with the beauty of the city. Chen Xi invited the mayor of Minsk to return with a return visit to Shanghai, including for participation in the China International Import Expo.
Andrei Shorets emphasized that most of the exposition of Belarus at the exhibition in Shanghai will be Minsk enterprises. He asked me to specify what areas and industries are worth presenting in order to be interesting to the target audience. Chen Xi recommended to focus on the food sector, tourism and sports.
Companies of the IT sector, representatives of the HTP, FEZ "Minsk" will also be present. According to the director of "Minsk City Technopark" LLC Vladimir Davidovich, the residents of the technopark will present the technologies of plastic processing for its utilization and the technology of production of medical lasers.
"We hope that this exposition will give impetus to the Belarusian companies in the implementation of joint projects," concluded Chen Xi.
The first China International Import Expo will be held from 1 to 10 November 2018 in line with the New Silk Road Initiative, which China is actively promoting.
