A workshop and a greenhouse for people with disabilities appeared in Minsk under the project "Hands of Relief"

The results of the charitable project "Hands of Relief" were presented in Minsk today, thanks to which people with disabilities of the capital received an updated platform for creativity and self-realization, BelTA learned from the territorial center of social services of the population of Oktyabrsky district of Minsk, the project was realized.
From July 19 to July 30, volunteers from the German charitable organization Helping Hands helped the staff of the Center to organize leisure activities, to implement new types of social services and rehabilitation for different categories of wards.
Total day care for disabled people on the street. Brilevskaya, 3 constantly attend 44 people. For them, volunteers organized a "I can myself" workshop: purchased the necessary equipment so that people with disabilities could create independently under the supervision of masters. For example, make original birdhouses for city parks and for sale.
Also, thanks to the project, a decorative greenhouse with mini-greenhouses appeared in the department. Young people with disabilities already plant several plants. Working with the land, caring for plants - all this helps the visitors of the department to develop new skills and socialize. The ability to manage an independently grown crop, including selling, gives the children a sense of independence.
According to Sergei Nikitin, the deputy director of the Center for TSSSON, this did not stop the German partners' assistance. They repaired and refurbished the room for the "Minute for Mom" ​​service: now the parents of the kids can temporarily leave the children under the care of the caretakers in a place with a lot of games and sports equipment to take care of themselves, relax or solve the accumulated cases.
In addition, during the project, the Helping Hands volunteers themselves dealt with visitors to the children's camp organized in the department. Played, arranged sports competitions and educational conversations in an exciting way.
