Sweden is interested in developing economic and tourist cooperation with the Minsk region. This was stated by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Belarus Christina Juhannesson today at a meeting with the Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko, BelTA has learned.
"So far, Swedish companies and tourists know little about Belarus.Our main task is to represent the interests of Sweden, but at the same time we collect as much information about your country, in particular, the Minsk region, to enable representatives of Swedish companies to travel around the regions, They have an interest in Belarusian enterprises in various spheres of the economy, as well as in sanatorium tourism, "said Christina Johannesson.
Get acquainted with the regions of Belarus allows a 30-day visa-free regime. According to the ambassador, earlier, during the validity of the 5-day visa-free travel, Swedish tourists managed to see only Minsk. "And now it's possible to show them other iconic objects and routes of your country," she stressed.
The Swedes will be able to learn more about the potential of Belarusian enterprises in the near future without leaving their country. "The investment opportunities of Belarus will be presented to Swedish companies in Stockholm, details will be worked out: we will determine in what format and with which participants the event will take place." Presumably, the meeting will be held at the end of November, "said Christina Johannesson.
Anatoly Isachenko presented the Ambassador with a number of projects that are being implemented in the Minsk region. He spoke about the construction of the Nizhyn GOK by the Slavkali company in the Luban region, the construction of the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation for the production of amino acids in the Pukhovichi district, the projects in the field of ecology - the processing of garbage and the creation of deironing stations.
This year, the development of a project to create an amusement park in the metropolitan region of the type "Disneyland" began. "On the territory of the Minsk region in the direction of the airport we looked at the place, we need money injections in the amount of $ 400-500 million. If someone is interested in the project, then we are open for cooperation," said Anatoly Isachenko.
Christina Johannesson visits the Minsk region from September 25 to September 28. She intends to visit the large enterprises of the region, including the Slutsk Cheese Factory, Belaruskali, the Minsk Production Tannery, and BelAZ, the managing company of BelAZ Holding. Also, the opening of the exhibition "Shvitsyaya vachyma belarusa" is planned on the basis of the Slutsk Regional Central Library.
