In Minsk and the Minsk region, you can plunge into the hole in Baptism in eight places

11.01.2019

In Minsk and the Minsk region, eight rescue stations will be equipped with places where you can plunge into a hole in Baptism, BelTA learned from the city organization OSVOD. Such sites will be on the Vyacha reservoirs (Pilnitsa village, 23 km from the Moscow Ring Road), Drozdy (Vesninka street, 2a), Krinitsa (Zarechye village, 6 km from the Moscow Ring Road), Ptich (Volchkovichi village, 5 km from Moscow Ring Road), Tsnyanskoe (Koltsova Street), Minsk Sea (Zarechye Village, 7 km from Moscow Ring Road and Kachino Village, Vokzalnaya Street, 10.7 km from Moscow Ring Road), Komsomolskoye Lake (Progressivnaya Street, 29a). Doctors remind that swimmers should be in good health. For example, vascular diseases - varicose disease, atherosclerosis - impair the blood supply to remote areas of the body, respectively, hypothermia in such people may occur more often. It is also necessary to dress warmly before and after bathing and not to drink alcohol, as a person may feel a surge of heat from alcohol for some time, but then a spasm of blood vessels occurs, the body temperature decreases, especially in the arms and legs. The Orthodox world celebrates the Baptism Day of the Lord, or Epiphany, on the night of January 18-19. On the Epiphany Eve and on the very day of Epiphany, in all Orthodox churches, after the Divine Liturgy, the rite of Great Blessing of Water is performed. According to ancient belief, on this day all the water becomes holy and heals any ailments. Sanctified water of Epiphany is the greatest shrine. It is stored throughout the year. Traditionally, on this day, thousands of believers rush to natural sources in order to join the sacred waters, to cleanse themselves from sins and to be spiritually transformed. In order for the holiday not to be darkened by an accident on the water, OSVOD calls for the safety rules to be observed: immerse only in specially equipped ice holes near the shore under the supervision of lifeguards, warm up the body, do a warm-up, jog, and not go slipping before swimming. Experts advise to fit the hole in comfortable, non-slip and easy-to-remove shoes in order to prevent loss of sensation in the legs. It is best to dip around the neck, not soaking your head. Diving and full immersion are not recommended. When you enter the water for the first time, you should quickly reach the desired depth, do not stay in the hole for more than a minute. After bathing, rub yourself with a towel and put on dry clothes, drink hot tea.
