The decision on a pilot project for the construction of housing for Minsk residents in Smolevichi will be taken soon, Alexander Avramenko, the head of the housing policy department of the Ministry of Architecture and Construction, told journalists today, BelTA reports.
"This project has already been prepared and is in the Presidential Administration. We expect that there will be some result in the very near future. We hope that such a document will be signed," Alexander Avramenko said.
A representative of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture explained that with a positive decision on the project, the start of construction of a house in Smolevichi will be additionally announced, those who want to wait will be able to apply. "Of those people who express a desire and submit an application, those who have been registered for the longest time in need of better housing will be selected," said Alexander Avramenko.
With regard to the development of satellite cities in general, the head of the housing policy department of the Ministry of Construction and Architecture considers that it will largely depend on the creation of social and transport infrastructure (schools, clinics, roads) in these localities.
