42 thousand residents of the Minsk region received state targeted social assistance in the total amount of Br13.7 million in 2018, BelTA learned from the Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee. State targeted social assistance is allocated to low-income families and people in difficult situations, the system provides four social benefits. In addition, monthly and one-time social benefits in kind in the form of food, basic necessities, clothing and shoes were provided to disadvantaged families in the amount of about 166 thousand. Another 11.5 thousand needy elderly and disabled citizens received material assistance from the Social Protection Fund of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection in the amount of over Br933 thousand. In the area to the services of senior citizens and people with disabilities 23 territorial centers of social services. In order to increase the availability of social services for the village residents, the network of social centers is expanding. The work of 41 social service brigades on a mobile basis was organized, assistance was provided to almost 5.4 thousand disabled citizens living in remote rural areas. Nursing services were provided to 259 residents of the region.
