National qualification for the first official world championship in break dance will be held on March 23 in the central atrium of the Stolitsa shopping center in Minsk, chairman of the Belarusian Break Dance Federation Alexander Popov told BelTA.
"At the moment, there are about 200 applications. Qualification involves four nominations with solo performances of children under 10 years and 15 years (inclusive), as well as girls and boys from 16 years old, but only the last two of them are qualifying. For example, the girls of 16+ and Solo guys 16+ who won first place in the nominations get into the official national team of Belarus on braking and will represent our country at the World Championships, ”said Alexander Voinov.
The performance will be judged by a professional jury. "Children participate in the selection for obtaining rating points and experience. In addition, prizes and gifts from partners have been prepared for them," said the chairman of a public association.
The first ever official championship world breakdance will be held June 23 in the Chinese city of Nanjing. “According to the rules of the World Forum, each country sends two guys and two girls for the one-on-one competition. At the same time, the organizers reserve the right to choose the second team member,” explained Alexander Voinov.
He added that the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and other interested organizations are partners in holding national qualifications for the world championship in break dance.
