In the first half of the year, the trade turnover of the Minsk region with China increased by more than a third. This was reported to journalists by the deputy chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Nikolai Rogashchuk, BelTA has learned.
“In the first half of the year, the trade turnover of the Minsk region with China grew by 36% and amounted to more than $ 800 million. Export grew by 64%, import - only by 20%: we are glad that export is growing faster. We mainly supply potassium salts, recently also milk and meat products, "said Nikolai Rogashchuk.
According to the results of the first quarter, more than $ 70 million of foreign investments were attracted to the region, of which over $ 37 million were direct Chinese, while more than $ 17 million was attracted on a net basis.
As for the supply of Belarusian products to China, this year already sent two container trains with dairy products. Now the third train is being formed - 41 cars, 1 thousand tons of milk. “Those trains that come back to China from Europe via Belarus are filled, mainly food. Not to the extent that we would like, but filling is underway, with products not only from the Minsk region, but also from other regions. In general, China “This is a huge market that can absorb almost everything that is produced in the region, and even more,” the deputy chairman of the regional executive committee concluded.
