A professional jury that comprised famous artists and designers chose the winner, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Information Ministry.
The competition received 104 applications, including 174 works and original concepts. All the works were creative and interesting. The winner was Vitaly Ortyukh with his work “We”. He designed the mascot of the 2014 IIHF World Championship in Minsk.
The logo suggested by Vitaly Ortyukh features elements of the Belarusian ornament and the color of the cornflower – one of the symbols of Belarus. The slogan of the work is as follows: “Every one of us is a part of a single entity, one big ‘WE' – the Belarusian nation”.
