Public debate on bills on Belarusian People's Congress, Electoral Code to end on 2 November

02.11.2022

The public debate of the bill “On the Belarusian People's Congress” and the bill “On amending the Electoral Code of the Republic of Belarus” will conclude on 2 November, BelTA has learned.

The bills were put out for public discussion on 24 October. They were posted in special sections of the Legal Forum of Belarus. Those who want to contribute their views will still be able to do it on 2 November.

“On 3 November, all the proposals in a generalized form will be submitted to the organizers of the public debate - the House of Representatives and the National Center of Legislation and Legal Research - for expert evaluation,” said Andrei Matelsky, Director of the National Center of Legal Information. “We see that these bills are actively discussed at dialogue platforms. The Legal Forum continues to receive input from the public. And although proposals are not many - as of yesterday there were more than 150 of them, these proposals are very specific. We can say that our citizens got involved in legislative effort and their activity is pretty high,” Andrei Matelsky said.
