PM honors Belarusians for professional distinction

03.11.2022

Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko presented state awards to outstanding Belarusians in a ceremony in Minsk on 3 November, BelTA has learned.

"There we are having a special, solemn ceremony. On behalf of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, we celebrate the best representatives of the country's labor collectives. Such ceremonies are a great opportunity to appreciate professionals, to thank them for their creative work and commitment. Each of you has excelled in your professional field, has made a great contribution to the development and strengthening of our Motherland. It is you who personify the hardworking and stable Belarus. This is how our country was and will be," Roman Golovchenko said.

Among the awardees there are many employees of the agricultural industry. "This year was good for farmers. The country has harvested 11 million tonnes of grain crops and rapeseed. Belarus has fully ensured food security. The export of Belarusian food products in 2022 is expected to be very high and might approach $8 billion. It takes a lot to produce such results, this can only be achieved through hard work and utmost dedication,” he stressed.

On this day awards were also presented to representatives of the domestic manufacturing sector, one of the lifelines of the country. “Although today the manufacturing industry is operating in very difficult conditions due to a number of factors, it is doing pretty well. Neither the sanctions, nor the uncertainty on foreign markets, nor the pandemic could undermine the Belarusian manufacturing sector. Enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry have not only successfully adapted to the new environment, but also continue with their production and modernization programs, introduce innovative technologies, launch new products that are in demand on the global market,” the Belarusian head of government noted.

Workers of culture, art, representatives of the creative intelligentsia also received awards. “You are shaping national art, moral and aesthetic values. Your contribution to the spiritual education of our society is invaluable. I am sure that your knowledge, energy, high sense of responsibility will continue to contribute to the successful development of our beloved Motherland,” said Roman Golovchenko.

In his words, the awards are the recognition of merits at the state level. “I think this will only give you strength to achieve new professional heights, no matter where each of you work,” the prime minister added.

Among those awarded the medal For Labor Merits were vegetable grower of the Berestie greenhouse center, Brest District Tamara Andrianova, mechanic-toolmaker of Minsk Tractor Plant (MTZ) Aleksandr Bartalevich, turner of the Kletsk District agroservice Dmitry Bobko.

The Medal of Francysk Skaryna went to dancers of the honored ensemble of dance, music and song White Dews Aleksei Lyulkovich and Aleksandr Makaruk and director of the Palace of the Republic Maksim Prikhodovsky.

In total, more than 60 representatives of labor collectives received state awards on 3 November.
