On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, a large-scale motor rally to places of military glory has started in Kopyl region. Teachers, students of city schools, the chairman of the ROS DOSAAF Alexander Kasinsky, representatives of the RK OO «BRSM», the department of education, sports and tourism of the district executive committee took part in the patriotic action. The event united generations, recalling the feat of those who fought for the freedom of their native land.
The motor rally began at the monument to the liberator soldiers in Kopyl. A rally was held here, where participants honored the memory of the fallen with a minute of silence and laid flowers.
— Each of us must remember at what price a peaceful sky was won, — emphasized Alexander Kasinsky.
Then the column headed to the key historical points of the region. And the next stop was the Alley of Courage and Bravery, dedicated to the participants of the war in Afghanistan.
The route then included a mass grave of border guards of the Timkovich border detachment; a monument to fallen countrymen in the village of Rudnoye; a memorial in Velikaya Raevka, where the names of villagers who did not return from the front are immortalized; the Gnilukha tract — the site of the first battle of partisans with the German invaders on May 9, 1942; a memorial site in the village of Kolodeznoye, where the Nazis dealt with civilians in February 1943.
The patriotic event ended at the mass grave of 18 partisans near Lavskoye Forest. Here, Alexander Kasinsky spoke about the tragic events of December 1942, when all our guys died, the youngest was 15 years old.
The rally was not just an excursion, but a living lesson in courage. Participants of the event shared their impressions:
— Such actions connect the past and the present, — noted the youth leader of the RK OO «BRSM» Anastasia Davydenko. — It is important for young people to know: the war touched every family here in Kopyl region.
— When we stood at the mass grave near Lavsky forest and listened to the story of a 15-year-old partisan, a lump formed in my throat, — says Anna Burak, a student of Gymnasium No. 1 in Kopyl. — He is our peer... And he sacrificed his life. We are obliged to talk about this so that this never happens again.
— Such actions are a valuable lesson for us, — shares Anastasia Markova, a student of Secondary School No. 3 in Kopyl. — We saw the places where the battles took place, listened to stories about fellow countrymen. This is a living connection between generations: when history ceases to be an abstraction and becomes part of our personal memory.
On the 80th anniversary of the Victory, the land of heroes once again reminded us: as long as the memory is alive, those who gave their lives for our future are alive. We believe that the fire of this memory will not go out in the hearts of new generations.
