According to a good tradition, on the eve of Victory Day, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and those who suffered from its consequences received congratulations.
Every year, the number of people who went through the cruel trials of war is decreasing. This year’s anniversary in our region is celebrated by only 13 such witnesses of the terrible hard times. Each of them is given special attention.
On the eve of the significant date, the chairman of the district executive committee Sergey Pilishchik congratulated a resident of the village of Skabin, Maria Kharitonovna Primich, the only participant in the Great Patriotic War who remained in Kopyl region. The veteran was also visited with gifts, wishes of health and long life by the deputy chairman of the district executive committee Irina Yukho, the military commissar of the Nesvizh and Kopyl districts Lieutenant Colonel Kirill Maglysh, the chairman of the district Council of Veterans Lyudmila Kamenko and the chairman of the Kopyl district organization of the Belarusian Red Cross Nina Zhuk.
Congratulations on this day were also received by Anna Stanislavovna Malinovskaya (ag. Skabin), Ekaterina Efimovna Dyatlovich (ag. Timkovichi), Nina Andreevna Kolesnik (ag. Semezhevo), Nadezhda Ivanovna Kotvitskaya, Ekaterina Makarovna Ivanova, Evgeniy Vasilyevich Sivets, Ludvika Ludvikovna Koshmanova (g. Kopyl), Vera Mikhailovna Kozel (village of Evseevichi), Vladimir Mikhailovich Kovsh (village of Bobovenka), Maria Pavlovna Germanovich (village of Zhilikhovo), Dmitry Dmitrievich Bruek (village of Argelovshchina), Olga Nikolaevna Meleshko (village of Krivoye Selo).
In honor of the 80th anniversary of the liberation from the Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, veterans were presented with congratulatory letters on behalf of the President of the Republic of Belarus and jubilee medals «80 Years of Victory».
The festive mood during the celebration was created by the creative group «Svae hloptsy». Both the veterans themselves and their guests happily sang along to the artists’ «Katyusha», «Smuglyanka» and other songs of the war years.
