Half Marathon "Kopyl Ring" brought together hundreds of athletes from different parts of Belarus

10.06.2025

Last Saturday, Kopyl became the center of attraction for running enthusiasts for the 36th time. The traditional open championship of the Minsk region in the half marathon "Kopyl Ring" brought together hundreds of athletes from different parts of Belarus.

From the very morning, the bright sun and warm wind created ideal conditions for the race. Athletes enthusiastically registered, preparing for the tests at distances from 500 meters to a half marathon (21.1 km).

The grand opening began with a welcoming speech by the deputy head of the department for education, sports and tourism of the district executive committee Tatyana Mateiko. She wished the participants bright starts, personal records and, of course, pleasure from running.

The competition began with races for the youngest athletes. At the 500 meter distance, boys and girls aged 7-8 rushed forward with one thought: "I'm first!" Just 10 minutes later, the boys aged 9-10 and 11-12 started, covering the 800 meter distance. Their passion and perseverance charged the spectators with energy. The distances gradually became more difficult: 2 km, 10 km - everyone could choose a challenge according to their strength. But the main event, as always, was the half marathon - 21.1 km race.

But first, the award ceremony for young athletes took place.

21.1 kilometers is not a distance for the faint of heart. Professional and amateur runners confidently conquered the steep descents and climbs of the "Kopyl Ring". Throughout the entire route, volunteers supported the participants, showed the way and provided them with water. And for safety, an ambulance team from the Kopyl Central District Hospital was on duty on the territory of the FOC. On this hot day, volunteers from the detachments of the Secondary School No. 2 of the city Kopyl “Kind Heart” and Kopyl State College “We Are Together” along with the Chairperson of the RO –OO “Red Cross” Nina Zhuk provided the athletes with water.

The competition flew by unnoticed, and now the first leaders appear on the finish line. In the age category 50+, the victory was won by the chief judge of the track and field race – Director of the Youth Sports School of the Kopyl District Trade Union Organization of the Belarusian Trade Union of Agro-Industrial Complex Workers Dmitry Bullo, showing an impressive result.

The winners and prize-winners received well-deserved awards: certificates, medals and memorable gifts from the organizers - the Main Department of Sports and Tourism of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee and the Kopyl District Executive Committee.

The Kopylyane once again showed impressive results. Thus, in the age category of 7-8 years old, at a distance of 500 m, Maya Kostyukevich and Alexander Lazovsky became the first. A. Yegor Matsul came in second. At the 800m distance (age category 9-10 years old), Evgeniy Sergienya came in second, and Maria Kulikovskaya came in third. Vladislav Astreiko came in first in the 11-12 age group. Our guys showed impressive results in the 13-14 age category at the same distance. Thus, Egor Cherkas took the leading position. Nikita Kozel and Alesya Rudnitskaya came in second. Dmitry Liger and Arina Korik took third place. At the 2km distance, Diana Dranich took bronze. The ten-kilometer run brought Ivan Meleshko and Sergey Misyuchenko second place, and Alla Tonko and Alexey Syman third.

The Kopyl Ring proved that this run is not just a competition, but a real sports festival that unites people of different ages and levels of training.
