The Minsk oblast intends to expand the cooperation in service business with Poland, Deputy Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Alexander Ermak noted during a meeting with a delegation of the Zachodnie Pomorze voivodeship of Poland. “Today we may propose the Polish side to take part in the construction of a hotel in Nesvizh. Also we have to analyze other possible avenues of the cooperation. The Minsk oblast and the Zachodnie Pomorze voivodeship should strengthen their relations,” Alexander Ermak noted. According to the Belarusian and Polish sides, in early 2008 the Minsk oblast and the Zachodnie Pomorze voivodeship are expected to sign the cooperation agreement. Poland is one of the main trading partners of the Minsk oblast. The regions of the Minsk oblast and Poland concluded 11 cooperation agreements. In January-August 2008, the trade between the Minsk oblast and Poland made up $320.1 million. Over the eight months this year, the export increased two times to make up $252.9 million. The Minsk oblast posted a surplus in trade with Poland at the amount of $185.7 million. Minsk oblast’s main exports to Poland were mineral fertilisers, oil products and casein.
