MINSK, March 4 (BelTA) – During the Year of Native Land, new greenhouses to plant greenery for urban areas are expected to be set up in the Minsk oblast, Alexander Zhuravsky, director general of the Minsk housing maintenance and utilities company, told BelTA. At present, there are 12 companies in the Minsk oblast which cultivate flower transplant seedlings – in Molodechno, Slutsk, Vileika, Kletsk, Nesvizh, Stolbtsy, Soligorsk, Luban, Pukhovichi, Borisov, Kopyl na Dzerzhinsk. There is a nursery-garden in the Vileika region. It occupies two hectares. At present, specialists are discussing the organization of additional greenhouses to provide other regions of the Minsk oblast with planting material, Alexander Zhuravsky noted. All in all, in 2009, the Minsk oblast intends to plant 50,000 trees, 75,000 bushes and 21,000 flowers. Urban redevelopment, greenery planting, consumption wastes processing and burial are the most important ecological and socio-economic problems of the Minsk oblast, Alexander Zhuravsky noted. Every year, towns of the Minsk oblast take part in the national contest dedicated to urban redevelopment. In 2008, Soligorsk, Marjina Gorka, Kopyl, the settlement of Chist of the Molodechno region and the town of Starobin of the Stolin region became the winners in their categories. БЕЛТА
