MINSK, April 17 (BelTA) – New tourist camps have been set up on the Naroch Lake before the tourist season, BelTA learnt from Elena Brok, deputy head of the physical culture, sport and tourism department of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee. According to her, for the recent years, the Narochansky National Reserve has changed a lot. Specialists of the reserve renovated camps, hotels, road service facilities, developed new itineraries. At present, the construction of an aquapark on the Naroch Lake is being discussed with investors. Every year, the number of Belarusian and foreign tourists in the region grows. In 2008, 22,000 foreigners – Russians, Ukrainians, Poles, tourists from the Baltic states visited the Naroch region of Belarus. The territory of the Minsk oblast includes five tourist zones – the Borisov, Logoisk, Minsk, Naroch and Slutsk zones. There are 79 organizations engaged in the tourist business in the region including farms, hunting lodges, sports and recuperation facilities, resorts and others. According to Elena Brok, on April 17, the Minsk oblast coordination council for tourism will hold a session in the Volozhin region. Participants of the session will visit the Mikhalovo farm, the PARK road service facility, a hunting centre in the village of RUM, the Ivenets Museum of Traditional Culture, the Minsk Oblast Health Centre Galaktika. During the session, experts will discuss the implementation of the national tourism development programme, the preparation for the summer season, other issues. БЕЛТА
