MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) – Austrian company EGGER is interested in the construction of a wood processing plant in the Minsk oblast, Minsk Oblast Governor Leonid Krupets said as he met with the Council of Elders on 30 June. The representatives of the company had recently come to Minsk to study a possibility to set up a joint venture producing chipboards and OSB boards. The Austrian delegation is to visit Belarus again the other day. The wood processing enterprise is to be located near Borisov. “The construction of such a plant will greatly benefit the Minsk oblast; the region abounds in the necessary raw materials,” Leonid Krupets said. He informed that foreign and private capital takes part in the construction of six trade and logistic centres in the Minsk oblast which are to facilitate trade and transport logistics. “The difficult economic situation worldwide somewhat affected the deadlines of commissioning these objects, but the projects are being implemented,” Leonid Krupets underlined. The EGGER Group headquartered in St. Johann/Tyrol (Austria) ranks amongst the leading producers of wood-based materials in Europe. The product range includes chipboards, MDF and OSB boards as well as numerous upgraded products. БЕЛТА
