MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – According to the IT department of the Minsk Oblast Tax Office, 2,249 Minsk oblast tax payers have switched to using digital declarations. The novelty was introduced on 1 April 2009. As early as the second quarter of the year it was much easier to fill in and forward tax declarations to tax authorities. Over 240 self-employed businessmen and over 2,000 corporations have appreciated the advantages brought about by digital declarations. Most of them reside in the Minsk region (375 tax payers), the Borisov region (244) and the Molodechno region (218). The new practice is praised for enabling a tax payer to send tax declarations 24/7 from any place. It allows using saved time for other things and cuts down the paperwork, noted the source. To use the novelty, one has to acquire a key data medium and install the necessary software on an Internet-enabled computer. Tax offices across the Minsk oblast offer training, with PCs and advisors available. All in all, in January-November 2009 around 22,700 corporations, over 29,700 self-employed businessmen and nearly 694,500 individuals, who pay property taxes, paid taxes to the state budget. БЕЛТА
