MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) – The best farmsteads have been chosen in the Minsk oblast, BelTA learnt from Irina Deshkevich, expert of the department for physical education, sports and tourism of the Minsk oblast executive committee. The winners were defined in five nominations: For Upholding Belarusian Traditions, For Healthy Lifestyle, For Hospitality, Green Farmstead, Style and Harmony. The Ganka farmstead in the Volozhin region won in the four nominations. The Glivinskaya farmstead clinched two victories (for upholding of the Belarusian traditions and for healthy lifestyle). The Circle of Friends farmstead in the Borisov region won in the healthy lifestyle and hospitality nominations, the Vyazynka farmstead in the Molodechno region – in the Green Farmstead and Style and Harmony nominations. Among the awardees was the Nastenka farmstead (the second place for the upholding of the traditions), In the Prilesye farmstead of the Minsk region (the first place for hospitality), the Lake farmstead of the Cherven region (for style and harmony). The farmstead Damelka in the Smolevichi region and Three Nightingales in the Logoisk region were recognized the best green farmsteads (the first and third places respectively). The Best Farmstead Contest took its start in late 2009. Partaking in it were 37 agricultural and ecotourism facilities from the Minsk, Volozhin, Borisov, Cherven, Myadel, Smolevichi, Slutsk, Vileika, Dzerzhinsk, Logoisk, Molodechno regions. The jury that consisted of representatives of the Minsk oblast executive committee, the Belarusian civil organization Recuperation in the Countryside, Belagroprombank, travel agencies assessed the level of the services provided in the farmsteads, their design, marketing strategy, original ideas. The awarding ceremony will take place at a session of the department for physical education, sports and tourism of the Minsk oblast executive committee in the Berezino region on 12 February. All in all there are 214 farmsteads in the Minsk oblast. There are 63 farmsteads in the Minsk region, 28 – in the Myadel region and 19 – in the Volozhin region. Nearly 24,400 people recuperated in the farmsteads of the Minsk region in 2009. БЕЛТА
