MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – The Minsk Oblast Executive Committee and the Government of the Venezuelan State of Aragua have signed a cooperation agreement. The document has been signed by Aragua State Governor Rafael Isea and Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Leonid Krupets, BelTA learned from spokeswoman of the Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Galina Trofimenko. The document envisages the cooperation in various areas including tourism, information, agribusiness, industry, culture, education, sport, city planning, transport, health care system, environment protection. The Minsk Oblast and the Aragua State are expected to hold joint international festivals, fairs, concerts, cooperate at the level of the municipal services, develop investment activity. The term of the agreement is 4 years. According to Galina Trofimenko, the Minsk Oblast and the Aragua State established their relations during a visit of the Belarusian President to Venezuela in March this year. During the visit to Minsk the Venezuelan delegation is expected to discuss the issues related to housing construction, supplies of road building machinery and cooperation in technologies, agriculture, industry and tourism. The Venezuelan delegation is in the Minsk Oblast on a five-day visit (8-13 May). The delegation includes officials in charge of economic and technical development, urban infrastructure, transport, water supply, and agriculture. The guests have already visited industrial and agricultural companies in the Nesvizh, Molodechno, Smolevichi regions and Minsk City. They got familiar with the economic and agricultural potential of the Minsk Oblast, took part in the events timed to the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In January-March this year, Minsk Oblast’s export to Venezuela made up $19.9 million, up 77.7% as against the same period last year. The Minsk Oblast exported mineral fertilizers ($19.8 million), metal goods ($0.1 million). In 2009 the trade between the Minsk Oblast and Venezuela reached $57 million including export - $57 million, import - $1.4 thousand. БЕЛТА
