MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – The museums of the Minsk Oblast are organizing new expositions on the country’s history this year, BelTA learnt from head of the culture and art office of the culture department of the Minsk oblast executive committee Valentina Makarova. The Vileika local lore museum has launched the development of a scientific and art concept, Arts and Crafts, and held a re-exposition of a section dedicated to Konstantin Tyshkevich. The Minsk oblast local lore museum has started the creation of a permanent exposition timed to the history of the Minsk Oblast. The exposure will tell about the first settlements in the oblast center, historical events of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Rzecz Pospolita, the social, political and cultural development of the land as part of the Russian Empire. A scientific concept as well as an architectural design have already been worked out. Besides, the old building of the oblast museum is currently under reconstruction to house the Museum of Nature. An estimated Br150 million was allocated for these purposes in 2009. Nearly Br400 million more will be utilized this year. According to Valentina Makarova, the museums have taken an active part in the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. For instance, there has been set up a new exposition Tragedy and Deed. The 20th Century in Kopyl. Nesvizh has renewed its expo section, They Liberated Nesvizh. The Borisov United Museum continues its work on developing its showings the Borisov Oblast during the Great Patriotic War, the Borisov-Begoml Partisan Zone in the Museum of the People’s Glory in the village of Zembin. A theatrical exhibition, the Naroch Krai – the partisan territory, is held in the Myadel Museum of the People’s Glory. An exhibition, the Saved World Remember, opened in the Oblast local lore museum in Molodechno on 9 May. There are 23 state museums in the Minsk Oblast. The museums are annually visited by more than 520,000 people. In 2009 there were organized 465 exhibitions, 1414 cultural and educational campaigns and over 11300 excursions. БЕЛТА
